Research on Water Resistant Photosensitive Compositions for Screen Printing

Photosensitive compositions which possess high photosensitivity and at the same time high water resistance to fulfill the requirements of making screen printing plate for manufacturing electronic circuit board and thick film for integrated circuit were studied. In order to fulfill the purpose photosensitive emulsion was prepared. Polyvinyl alcohol and polyvinyl acetate were used as the film forming agents and other additives were added as well. Diazo resin was used in different photosensitive compositions. It plays an important role in enhancing the photosensitivity of the compositions. The influence of exposure conditions and the water resistance of the compositions were studied in detail. The result showed that the photosensitivity of the system is high, namely 20.8mj/cm~2, and the water resistant property also meets the requirement perfectly in making circuit boards.
