This paper investigates Y-form Titanium Oxide Phthalocyanine (Y-TiOPc) prepared by different chemical reagents, solvents, reaction conditions and post treatment methods with regard to their xerographic performances. Experimental results showed that preparation mothed had a great impact on the toughness of post treatment as well as on chemical purity and yield. Under optimized reaction scheme and conditions. Y-TiOPc pigments could be obtained at high chemical yield of over 80% and were very easy for post treatments, like purification, etc. Dual-layered photoreceptors were made using differently prepared Y-TiOPc pigments as CGM and their xerographic performances were investigated with regarc to different polymer matrixes and hole transport materials Experiment results showed that Y-TiOPc pigments prepared under optimized conditions were best matched in nature with 4,4-diphenyl-l,l-(4' ,4"-diethylphenyl) butylenes, showing excellent xerographic performances at 780nm wavelength.
