An integrated approach for electrical performance analysis ofmultichip modules

The authors describe an integrated approach to evaluate theelectrical performance of multichip modules. A software systemconsisting of modeling and simulation tools to extract geometry from aplacement and routing system, compute electrical parasiticsm, and createequivalent circuit files to perform circuit simulations has beendeveloped. This tool was used in designing an i486 microprocessor-basedmultichip module. Typical results from the analysis are presented
