EEG signals with and without epileptiform activity were analyzed by using methods from non-linear dynamical system theory. EEGs were recorded from patients with petit mal epilepsy as well as from normal persons. The chaotic dynamic attractors of the EEG data were reconstructed expressed in the phase space and their correlation dimensions (D) were calculated. Our results revealed that the attractors of EEGs with epileptiform activity were more regular than those of normal EEGs and a lower dimension was verified in EEG's attractors during petit mal seizures, when they were compared with normal EEG's attractors.
