AUTOMATIC PARAMETER SELECTION FOR SPLIT/MERGE PROCESSING OF SIDE SCAN SONAR IMAGES

摘要

This paper presents an image segmentation algorithm based on the split and merge approach. Edge information is used in the predicates for split and merge and the rationale behind the predicate selection is explored. An important contribution of the work is the automatic selection of predicate parameters. Examples are shown that indicate the viability of the proposed approach.
