This paper deals with single phasernferroresonance in high voltage substations withrninductive voltage transformers (VT) and provides anrnoverview of uncritical and critical networkrnconfigurations, parameters influencing thernferroresonance behaviour and measures to avoidrnferroresonance occurrence. A special measure to avoidrnferroresonance, which is applied by Trench Germanyrn(TG), is discussed. This measure is to de-tune the nonlinearrnresonant circuit by a VT iron-core with anrnintegrated air-gap. By means of TG’s VT-design it isrnpossible to avoid ferroresonance occurrence for nearlyrnall substation arrangements. A comparison ofrntheoretically and experimentally obtainedrnferroresonance studies is discussed.
