In this paper, a type of low-current sensorrnbased on zero flux compensation principle isrndescribed. The current sensor is specially designed forrnonline monitoring of high voltage electrical apparatus.rnA circuit inside the sensor can track the variations ofrnmagnetizing current and compensate it automaticallyrnto assure the magnetic core working in a “zero flux”rncondition. Testing of the current sensor indicates thatrnthe design has received satisfactory result. Angularrndifference of the sensor is ±1.5′and relative scalerndifference is under one in a thousand.
