摘要

The carbon fiber reinforced silicon carbide matrix composites were developed by the combined process of chemical vapor infiltration (CVI) and precursor impregnation & pyrolysis (PIP). The properties of the composites were characterized also. The combined process demonstrated short manufacturing period and capability of achieving high-performance composites, with high flexural strength (643 MPa) and high fracture toughness (17.91 MPa.m~(1/2)).
