Abstract: Optimum concentrations of gel monomer and chiral material are explored to maximize the contrast and reduce the drive voltage of light shutter from cholesteric liquid crystal/polymer gel dispersion. The results indicate that these materials are excellent candidates for use with the active matrix. Their performance is superior in some regards to PDLC materials from isotropic polymers.!6
