In the present work, the wettability of Y-Al-Si-O-N oxynitride glasses on Si_3N_4 substrates was firstly investigated, it is found that the wettability of the glass depended on the ratios of Y_2O_3/Al_2O_3. Sound joint of Si_3N_4 ceramics could be successfully obtained using such glass and its shear strength varied with joining time and temperature.
