POTENTIAL OF ASTEROSEISMOLOGY OF SOLAR-LIKE STARS

The big advance in asteroseismology of solar-like stars isrnhighly expected after the launch of the specialized satel-lites.rnIt should be noted, however, that the number ofrndetectable eigenmodes will be much smaller than in he-lioseismology,rnbecause, unlike in the case of the sun, onlyrnlow degree modes can be detected in the distant stars duernto the geometrical cancellation of the oscillation pattern.rnIn this paper, we demonstrate how well (or poorly) werncan probe the internal structure of the solar-like stars us-ingrnthe limited number of eigenmodes.
