In the present years with the revolution in Internet misuse has been increased a lot and the number of people (attackers) involved in it also increased. In this paper I have tried to classify these types of the attacks. We are discussing DDOS: Distributed Denial Of Service attack. Denial means that you can't access the services, which are available to you. We will see loopholes in Internet architecture that makes the hackers able to intrude on the weak machine and the whole network. Also we will see that how these attacks takes place that is what is the mechanism of attack. Also we are going to discuss the some the research work which are going these day's.
