摘要

Case and through hardening is an indispensable step in the manufacture of steel products. To reduce production development and post treatment cost, simulation is a recommended mean, similar as in the metal forming branch. However, simulation is used at an industrial level only if a simulation method exists that fits to the expectations of the Industry. Such a simulation method is shown in this paper. Expectations of the industry are discussed and a solution is presented. The method is demonstrated for a large gear with a diameter of 200mm, with courtesy of VSTC.
