摘要

This poster presents an empirical modelling approach using a Geographical Information System (GIS) for the rapid estimation of water quality loads based on multi-temporal remotely sensed land-use data for the Hopkins-Glenelg region in South-West Victoria, Australia. Land uses have a major impact on Australia’s natural resources including its soil, water, flora and fauna, and play a major role in determining catchment health. The condition/ change of a basin can be understood by the analysis of land-use data acquired by the analysis of temporal satellite imagery. This is an invaluable tool for integrated catchment management as the study of the temporal changes of spatial patterns in cultured landscapes is important in understanding the underlying factors and the functional effects. The human induced changes in the landscape affect both biotic and abiotic factors
