摘要

According to the international current shortage index, the amount of the water resource of Sichuan, China, are studied. The main component analysis (PCA) method to evaluate the water resource sustainable utilization of 18 cities, Sichuan comprehensively has been used. Under the systematical, comprehensive and manipulative principles, we introduce 19 indexes to construct the index system of the comprehensive evaluation of the sustainable utilization of Sichuan water resource. The result indicates that Suining, Neijing, Ziyang are the cities lack water extremely; Chengdu, Deyang, Nanchong, Guang’an are the cities that lack water seriously; and other cities except the three municipalities (Aba, Ganzi and Liangshan) are the cities that lack water not seriously. As we can see, it is obvious that the shortage of water has been becoming the bottleneck of the sustainable development of Sichuan Province. This result could provide the scientific evidence to the economic development and environment improvement of Sichuan in development west of China
