摘要

Fractures with complex distribution and multiple origins, strongly affect characteristics andrnbehaviours of the rock media to which they belong. For a long period of time, rock mass around tunnel has alwaysrnbeen considered as a continuous elastic one which brings many inaccurate consequences and mechanics of discreternmedia is a smart choice to solve that problem. This paper presents an alternative path for the modelling of fracturedrnrock mass with the tunnel inside and two typical discrete element based softwares. Actual example on the tunnel ofrnSaint-Béat, France is presented to illustrate this recommendation.
