SKIN CANCER PROTECTION CONCEPTS

The consensus meeting on "educational needs for primary and secondary prevention of melanoma in Europe" by the EORTC Melanoma group, published in 1991 [1] as well as a consensus conference on "early melanoma" by the National Institutes of Health, USA, in 1992 and the consensus meeting "How to decrease morbidity and mortality of skin cancer" by the "Commission of Early Detection and Prevention of Skin Cancer" of the Society of Dermatological Prevention (ADP e. V.) in Hamburg, 1994 [2] emphazised the importance of "public education" to achieve the reduction of morbidity and mortality of melanoma and nonmelanoma skin cancer.
