Stimulated Raman scattering spectroscopic optical coherence tomography (SRS-SOCT) is a recently developedmolecular imaging technique that leverages the spatial and spectral multiplexing capabilities of SOCT with themolecular sensitivity and specificity of SRS for fast, tomographic, label-free molecular imaging. Here we present atheoretical framework for SRS-SOCT, discuss its advantages and limitations, and show experimental results fromexcised human adipose tissue. We also discuss our recent efforts in developing a novel light source, based on acoherently broadened laser, that is specifically tailored for SRS-SOCT. Implications of this label-free, molecularimaging technique for biomedical applications are discussed.
