Auto-catalyzed ethanol-water is one of the most promising org-anosolv delignification process among the different options already studied.This solvent mixture offers the advantages of economics and envioronment.In this paper,the ethanol organosolv pulping of Chinese Alpine Rush was investigated in lab-scale reactors. The most selective pulping conditions in terms of delignifation and pulp yield were found at a temperature of 180℃, a liquid ratio of 1:10 and ,an ethanol concentration of 55% (v/v).Under these conditions,good delignifation was achieved (Kappa no. 38.13),with pulp yield 53.18%,and the residual lignin contents 4.64%.EW pulp is excellent in physical strength properties,it can replace a part of wood kraft pulp in the producing of tissue papers.
