AUTOMATIC CONSTRUCTION OF FUZZY SYNONYM THESAURUS BASED ON WORDNET

摘要

WordNet is an on-line lexical reference system. English nouns, verbs, adjectives and adverbs are organized into synonym sets in this system, each representing one underlying lexical concept. Different synonym sets link each other by some relations. In this paper a method to construct a fuzzy synonym thesaurus automatically based on WordNet is proposed. This method is more efficient than the manual one. Also the consistency of the developed thesaurus is better than that of manually made thesaurus. For clearly depicting, an example to construct an adjective fuzzy synonym thesaurus is presented in this paper.
