This paper deals with the local and overall interaction buckling of steel columns subjected to cyclic lateral loads combined either with a concentric axial force or an eccentric axial force. Steel columns analyzed are of pipe-sections. The radius-thickness ratio and slenderness ratio are taken as main parameters. In the analysis of eccentrically loaded columns the effect of eccentricity of axial force is also investigated. To account for material nonlinearity, a modified two-surface model is employed to trace accurately the inelastic cyclic behavior of steel. As a result, some design formulas are proposed to predict the interaction buckling strength and durtility of steel columns under cyclic loading.
