Extended slantwise axial pump possesses the advantage of horizontal and vertical axial pump on the side of space arrangement, energy and cavitations performance except the complicated inner flow field and relatively more hydraulic losses. The periodic axial forces and radial forces act on units' runner arouse the complicated forces distributing on bearings. Aiming at inner flow field and pressure surge properties of this type, the measure of velocity distributing and pressure fluctuation performance was done on a 15°slantwise pump provided with specially low head and large discharge. The velocity and pressure fluctuation data was gained in four sections including the section before runner, between guide vanes, in the syphon and the section before stand in diffusing pipe. Contrast the analysis of the experiment conclusions with the instability flow calculation results for the whole flow passageway of prototype pump, the inner flow field including pre-circumrotate approach flow at runner intake and vortex distributing is clear, the pressure surge law such as fundamental frequency, twice and trinary of it is also distinct. The experimental study accelerates the technology development of this type of pump.
