Recirculation of the partialy decomposed raw meal into calciner has been adapted by more and more cement plants. This technology improves the calcination efficiency significantly and resulted in reduce fuel consumption and increased kiln capacity. Recirculation ratio is key papameter in optimizing the operation of the whole precalcining process. A rotuine of conducting and adjusting recirculation is described. A procedure for determining the perfomring at site is suggested. In order to define the dependence of physical-chemical properties of the meal in passing different position in the system upon the meal recirculation ration in the system upon the meal recirculation ratio, a mathematical model is put forward by blancing the mass of the meal, on the basis of fully considering the process of mass transfer performing in the precalcining system. A computation program for the mathematical model is worked out. Parameters characterizing the physical-chemical properties of the model should be determined by chemical analysis in advance. Then the data achieved are inputted into the program. The desired recirculation ratio is secured by operating a computer.
