Joint Ventures, Technology Transfer and China's Sedan Industry

摘要

There are few studies, which provide a whole picture of how and why multinationals entered into China and why joint ventures are the dominant mechanism for them to come into China. This paper aims to fill in the literature gap through examining two questions, including (1) why multinational carmakers come into China? (2) Why joint ventures are the dominant channel for foreign carmakers entering into China?
