Based on the warship practice and fire theory, four static and dynamic guidelines describing fire hazard of warship compartments are set up, that is, burning hazard guideline; compartment mutuality degree guideline; equipment operation state guideline and shipman state guideline. With these four guidelines, the fire hazard of warship compartments can be calculated. In this paper, the index values of the four guidelines for 9 categories of compartments in rules are presented. Then the relationship model of the compartment fire hazard guidelines is derived from the ANN model. With this method to calculate the class of the compartment division fire protection, it reduces the required experience of the design engineers in warship fire protection design. With the application of this method, some large compartment fire protection design has been done and the result is identical to that of other methods. This method can be a reference in warship fire protection design.
