Wood Composite profiles, like door sills and decking boards, are produced with a special extrusion system. A counter rotating twin-screw extruder pre-dries the wood flour in the first half, a co-extruder supplies plastic materials, (like recycled PE or PP with or without blowing agents) into the twin-screw extruder. The second half of the twin screw extruder delivers this mix through a die to give the shape of the final product. The result is superior profile than a wood board with better outdoor properties and longer life expectancy. Different process possibilities are explained in this paper.
