The study addresses the possibility and efficiency of using Jordanian Natural Pozzolan in Roller Compacted Concrete (RCC) gravity dams. For this purpose, two identical trial mix designs were proposed and undertake using two different cementitious materials, i.e., fly ash (proven to be effective in RCC made) and Jordanian natural pozzolan. The two mixes used were designed and laboratory trialed on the basis of using 60 kg/m~3 of cement for both mixes and with 80 kg/m~3 of fly ash for the first mix and 80 kg/m~3 of natural pozzolan for the second mix. Also, results for 60, 85, and 100 kg/m~3 cement only with no fly ash and pozzolan trial mix were available. More than 100 cylindrical specimens with 150 mm diameter by 300 mm long were cast and tested from the undertaken mix program. Compressive strength and Split tensile strength were determined for the two mixes. Results from the two mixes were analyzed and studied. Correlations were made between the mechanical properties for the two proposed mixes and the mixture using only 60, 85 and 100 kg/m~3 cement only. The results showed that the performance of Jordanian natural pozzolan compared with fly ash produced satisfactory results.
