Converting sludge-like materials into sievable prods. - by mixing with moisture binding agent with pozzolan properties, esp. fly-ash

Conversion of a moisture-contg. esp. sludge-like material into a workable compsn. comprises mixing the material with a cpd. having pozzolan properties, in such an amt. that all the moisture in the material is bound by the cpd., with the proviso that the amt. of water to be bound is not more than 30 wt.% w.r.t. the wt. of the cpd., esp. 15-25 wt.% and partic. ca. 20%. The material with pozzolan properties is esp. fly ash (I). Process uses cheap materials such as (I) and gives a sievable prod. rather than a solid material as in previous processes, so that the prod. can be sieved to recover useful materials such as metal particles.
