The paper will describe the application and history of Pack-Off Tubing Hangers (POTH’s). Thernsystem provides a safe and reliable means to suspend the tubing string in unsupported casing,rnwhile providing a secondary barrier in single riser applications. The primary application isrnaddressed to SPAR and TLP.rnThe major feature of the Pack-Off Tubing Hanger is a unique slip system capable ofrnsuspending the tubing string in unsupported casing. The slip and packing element system isrndesigned to withstand pressure reversals, extreme temperature changes, large axial andrntailpipe loads. Numerous feed-thru’s are necessary to convey chemical injection, subsurfacernsafety valves, intelligent well systems and downhole gauges. Dual Pack-Off Tubing hangersrnallow the well to be gas lifted.rn1. Laboratory testing verifies the slip and element systems ability to withstand the harshrnenvironments that will be encountered.rn2.
