Hydrocarbon production wells and injection wells, make use of tubing to convey hydrocarbons to the top of the well, or water or other injection fluids downhole.The tubing, which may be several kilometres long, are suspended from tubing hangers (TH) that are secured either at the surface of the well or at a downhole location.In a typical tubing installation process in the case of a subsea well, tubing sections are successively lowered through the deck of a rig with adjacent sections being secured together.The tubing is passed down to the well through a riser.Typically, various valves and other components are located in different tubing sections.The tubing hanger is secured above the last tubing section.A tubing hanger running tool (THRT) is then engaged with the tubing hanger.The entire assembly is then lowered down through the rising into the well on the end of a drill string.Once fully lowered, the fubing hanger is located within a Christmas Tree (XT) or a Wellhead (WH) and is iocked in place.The tubing hanger running tool is then removed together with the drill string.
