SENTINEL-2 IMAGES AND FINNISH CORINE LAND COVER CLASSIFICATION

This paper presents the main principles of FinnishrnCorine Land Cover classification process, therncharacteristics of the used images, experiencesrnconcerning image processing and expectationsrnconcerning future Sentinel-2 MultiSpectral Instrument.rnIt is expected that Sentinel-2 MSI will provide imagesrnwith better quality and temporal resolution, and whichrnwill make the processing of future IMAGE-mosaicsrneasier and provide better Corine Land Coverrnclassifications due to better spatial, spectral andrnradiometric resolutions.
