Vertical mixed flow pump with screw type impeller

摘要

Recently water and sewerage pumps with higher head have been demanded for long-distance pressure pumping and installations at larger depths in Japan. However, conventional vertical mixed flow pumps were not quite competent for high head. By adding an inducer function, we have put a vertical mixed flow pump with screw type impeller to practical use, which can operate at high-speed rotation and with a high head. The pump can achieve a total pump head of 50 m at a single stage and it also has excellent foreign-matter permeability, which is particularly required for sewage systems.
