This paper describes a microtunnel project that was in planning for five years and whose actual construction time was three months. The paper describes the study report, plans and specifications, subsurface investigations, manufacture and inspection of jack pipe, description of concurrent projects on the same site, the microtunnel project including construction procedures, what actually happened, the contractor's claim and the determination of the claim's merits. On the whole, the constructed project achieved the goal of the plans and specification.
