This paper reports the experimental results of ten model wall type reinforced concrete members. Experimental parameter is configuration of cross ties and hoops in order to find configuration of cross ties which is easier to construct and have sufficient deformational capacity compared with cross hoops used widely in real structures like wall type piers and box culvert nowadays. From the test results, for example, specimen with cross ties which have lap splices with splice length of twenty times of cross bar diameter and also have standard hooks specified in current code for railway structures showed sufficient deformational capacity and also show a little decrease in load-carrying capacity even after the specimen had undergone large displacement ductility levels.
