Face Detection Based on Skin Color and Template Matching

摘要

In this paper a face detection algorithm based on skin color model and template matching is presented. Gaussian skin color model of Perceptually Uniform Color System is built from its corresponding color histogram over a training set and used for segmenting candidate face regions. Template matching is then used for searching those candidate faces. Experiment results including fast face detection before desktop and more general ones from still pictures are given to show its effectiveness.
