The Border Panorama

摘要

In this paper, a novel 3D-plenoptic function called border panorama is presented. The border panorama is created by means of constraining viewpoint inside planar convex region, and sampling cylindrical panoramas along boundary of the region. It differs from concentric mosaic in that its viewpoint region can be arbitrary convex region, such as rectangle, triangle and circle. This method tries to construct a flexible representation of 3D-plenoptic function by combining mature panorama technique with the means of ignoring vertical parallax. It can be used in virtual environment walkthrough systems with complex viewpoint region, and no special device is required.
