Supporting coordination: a multi-agent approach

This paper presents ABACO, an agent-based architecture for the design of systems supporting coordination of cooperative activities among human agents. The situated nature of cooperation requires a high level of flexibility in the supporting system. This requirement led to the development of the architecture with the aim of designing systems evolving with the work practices that they support. The basic elements of ABACO are presented together with their organization.
