With the aim of development on methodology of fire risk assessment on electric cables, sheathrnand insulation materials of electric cables were tested in ISO single smoke chamber (ISO 5659-2) andrngenerated gases were measured by FTIR, and the cables were tested by EN vertical flammability testrnfor cables (EN50399) and gases were also measured by FTIR. The test results were compared andrnanalyzed with a view to establishing comparative fire risk assessment on materials used in electricrncables utilizing test data obtained by the single smoke chamber test with FTIR taking into account ofrnburning characteristics of electric cables.
