The aim of this work is to portray the Madhurawada dome and Gosthani riverrnbasin with about 400 sq. km located North of Visakhapamam city more preciselyrnclose to the sea of Bay of Bengal. The study was done using the IRS-IB imagery andrnthe field survey conducted for various structm'al elements and geological, lithologicalrndata. The treatment and classification of the imagery data were synchronized with thernstructural element data and geological material data. For comprehensive structuralrnanalysis and microscopic scale synoptic projection diagrams for each of the fabricrnelements like xS0, xS1, rtS2, Ll, L2, L3, have prepared separately from the domal arearnand river basin area. The synopsis of fabric geometry have synchronized with thernlineament frequencies obtained from the remote sensing imagery. The concentratedrnsets of lineament frequency trends are distinctly recognized along the zones ofrnquartzites and sheared khondalite plains. The major axial directions of importantrndomal fold pattern are typically represented by curvilinear lineament fabric indicatingrndoubly plunging recumbent fold systems. Intersecting lineament pattern and theirrnsynchronized structural configuration have got great significance for the monitoring ofrnthe groundwater resource zones. The river basin regulated by structural controls werernexpressed with cross cutting lineament pattern. For the first time the authorsrndelineated and monitored water resources lineament frequency zones in the domalrnareas and paleo-channels of the river basin.
