A Secure Location Service in Mobile Ad Hoc Networks

摘要

A mobile ad hoc network consists of a collection of wireless mobile nodes that cooperate to forward packets via multi-hops without any fixed infrastructure. However, this type of network is particularly vulnerable due to its underlying characteristics. Routing issues has received most of the prior research on security while the focus is on some prominent reactive and proactive ad hoc routing protocols. In this paper, we examine attacks and threats against the location-based routing in ad hoc networks, and present a secure location service based on DLM against those discussed attacks. The proposed secure location service can also tolerate to some extent system failures and compromised nodes to achieve enhanced availability and reliability of the location service. Simulation results and analysis presented verified the performance of our design.
