This paper deals with initial and boundary value problem describing the quasistatic evolution of rate-type viscoplastic material with internal state variables sumitted to contact boundary condition. Two variational formulation are proposed and some existence and uniqueness results are obtained. The numerical approach of the solutions and a concrete algorithm based on an iterative method is proposed. Some numerical results in the one-dimensional case are also presented.
