Countless factories dischare a great quantity of waste gases into the atmosphere in the whole world every day. For expample, more than five million tons of waste gases per year are discharged in the United States as by-products of the manufacture of carbon black. These waste gase contain mainly CO, H_2 and CO_2. Discharging these gases not only represents the loss of both energy and chemical feedstocks, but also causes envirnmental polution on both local and global scale. So in the last decade, microbial conversion of synthetic gas, a mixture with the composition just like waste gases, into various useful fuels and chemicals has received increasing attention~((1-3)).
