Abstract: A novel fiber resonator configuration is proposed to reduce the drift due to polarization fluctuation for a cheap resonator fiber optic gyro (R-FOG) having medium grade performance. The resonator can be made of an ordinary single mode fiber. Influence of drift sources has been considered, and it is confirmed that the configuration shows medium grade performance. !11
