Modular Simulation of Environmental, Energy and Mobility Aspects of Traffic Policies

Environment and sustainable energy are very important aspects in the world of today. Inrnthis framework, the use of alternative energy sources like electric and hybrid vehicles has to be putrnunder consideration. It has to be determined which is the efficiency and the feasibility of thisrnalternative.rnTo this effect, a simulation package has been developed at the VUB, in order to assess a mix ofrnpolicies such as the introduction of hybrid and electric vehicles. These are implemented to know theirrnimpact on energy usage, mobility and pollution. The Brussels Capital Region is taken as a case study.
