The Soil Moisture and Ocean Salinity (SMOS) is the worldwide satellite dedicated to retrieve soil moisture information at the global scale, with a high temporal resolution, and from space borne L-band 2-D interferometry radiometer. Product validation for the accuracy of data and utilization is a crucial step. At present, the validation work carried out in China was mainly concentrated in the Tibetan Plateau. The study of this paper mainly focused on the validation of SMOS L2 soil moisture data products in the north of Henan province plain region. This region is in front of Taihang Mountains. Results from the average-average and node-site comparison show that the correlation coefficients (R) between 0.20 and 0.40, also the existence of dry bias mainly concentrated in the 0.07 ~ 0.11m~3m~(-3). Finally, this paper analysed the influence factors on the quality of SMOS soil moisture products.
