Quasibinary boride-boride eutectic systems are one of the most important composites forcreating functional materials and ab initio study of their physical and mechanical properties arehighly relevant to the needs of modern-day industry and technology. Mechanical properties ofthe composite LaB_6 – MeB_2 (Me – Ti, Zr, Hf) were studied based on the results of computersimulation using the pseudopotentials method. On the basis of a mixed model (calculations ofinternal energy of the quantum - mechanical methods and the construction of thethermodynamic potentials of the Helmholtz) for composites into account the effect borders onthe mechanical properties of components.
