In an effort to make homogeneous bearing steel with high performances, 100Cr6 billets are successfully spray formed using twin atomizer in this study. Microstructures and properties of the spray formed bearing steel are examined and evaluated, especially focusing on the metallurgical homogeneity of this material. Two spray conditions have been compared, first for a single atomizer and next for a twin atomizer system. Radial density distributions of the spray formed 100Cr6 billets by twin atomizer are improved significantly compared to those profiles of billets sprayed by a single atomizer. Chemical homogeneity has also been proved for the deposits. Microstructures of the billets by twin atomizer are more homogeneous than those of the billets by single atomizer.
