Within the EUREKA-project "EUROLASER CHOCLAB (Characterisation of Optical Componnets and Laser Beams): Instruments and Standard Test Procedures for Laser Beam and Optics Characterisation" various round-robin tests on laser beam characterisation were carried out in 1996 and 1997. The main optics of these round-robin-experiments were the determination of the beam propagation properties according to ISO/DIS 11146 and of the beam positional stability according to ISO/DIS 11670. In measurement workshops the applicability of the two standards to different types of lasers was investigated. The comparability of the test results obtained with different experimental set-ups according to the standards was examined. Furthermore, the influence of different methods for data processing was studied in a numerical round-robin test.
