摘要

This paper investigates the active damping of tubularCFRP booms by means of piezoelectric hexapods, andpiezoelectric conformable patches. Background theoryis developed, and numerical simulations representativeof the DARWIN-Structure telescope are presented toassess the efficiency of the damping systems. This studyis supported by laboratory demonstrators described inthe last part of the paper.
