摘要

The Laser ablation of a metal target in liquid is known to offer a very simple pathway to metal NPs (nanoparticles). Nevertheless, in its standard form with bulk metal targets, the method does not necessarily promise high productivity. To solve this problem, we have recently proposed the use of thin metal (Ag) flakes1 or fine metal oxide (Ag-2O) powders2 as alternative target materials. In combination of ketone solvents, the laser-induced explosive splitting or fragmentative decomposition of these materials (in a top-down fashion) allows preparation of highly concentratedrn(more than 10 wt%) NP solutions without any extraneous addenda to protect them.
